The National Speech and Debate Association has announced the November Topic for Public Forum Debate and the November/December Topic for Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
Based on a nationwide vote, the 2014 November Public Forum topic is:
Resolved: On balance, the benefits of genetically modified foods outweigh the harms.
According to the NSDA, “A total of 447 schools and 385 students voted for the resolution. The winning resolution received 81% of the school vote and 79% percent of the student vote.”
Based on a preferred ballot of National Speech and Debate Association Coaches, the 2014 November/December Lincoln-Douglas topic is:
Resolved: The “right to be forgotten” from Internet searches ought to be a civil right.
